Bill Progress Chart

The Bill Progress Chart is a graphical representation of the progress of each piece of legislation. The more cells that are colored, the farther the bill is in the legislative process. Each cell represents a significant step towards becoming law. There are seven cells in the chart. The following table is a description of what each cell and color represents.

Bill has been laid on the table in the house of origin
 
Bill failed to pass in the house of origin on either second or third reading
Fourth
Bill is not referred to committee in the second chamber
 
Bill has been referred to committee in the second chamber
Fifth
Bill is not reported from committee in the second chamber
 
Bill has been reported from committee in the second chamber
 
Bill failed in committee in the second chamber
Sixth
Bill has not passed the second chamber
 
Bill has passed the second chamber
 
Bill has been laid on the table in the second chamber
 
Bill failed to pass in the second chamber on either second or third reading
Seventh
Bill has not been acted on by the governor
 
Bill has been signed or become law without the Governor's signature
 
Bill has been vetoed by the Governor.
